Arizona State University Data Science Masters Programs and Bachelors degree
The W.P. Carey School of Business offers two Master's degrees that can be completed online or on-campus: a Master of Science in Business Analytics and a Master of Science in Information Management. Both programs are offered at the Tempe campus or in an online format, but a mandatory orientation is required on campus. For the MSBA program, each course takes five weeks to complete and there are 10 courses, meaning the program can be completed in 16 months for online students (or nine months for the accelerated full-time option). Courses include Data Mining, Data-Driven Quality Management, Analytical Decision Making Tools, and Marketing Analytics. There is a project that culminates the degree.
The MSIM curriculum consists of six core courses: Data and Information Management, Strategic Value of Information Technology, Business Intelligence, Information Security and Controls, AI and Business, and a capstone project on emerging technologies. There are two specializations that students can choose from: Big Data and Tech Consulting. These options provide a gateway for graduates to get into a job position that is in high demand. Regardless of specialization, the program should take a year to complete.
University of Arizona Data Science Degree Programs
The Elder College of Management provides an Online Master of Science in Management Information Systems. With accelerated eight-week courses, there is the potential to finish the full degree in as little as 10 months, but with six different start times each year, the program is self-paced and can fit any professional's schedule. A minimum of three electives along with all the core classes are needed to complete the program. Some core course examples are Software Design and Integration, Enterprise Data Management, and Data Mining for Business Intelligence.
Assignments will need to be completed at specific times, and more frequently in the accelerated program, but course information will be available on-demand and the Desire 2 Learn course management system provides features such as class discussions, chatrooms, lab exercises, and quizzes and exams. Requirements for taking the online program are a PC or Mac computer, the Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Reader, and the Java Runtime Environment.
As an alternative, there are graduate certificates that can be completed in five months completely online: Accounting, Business Intelligence and Analytics, and Enterprise Security. Specifically in business analytics, the certification curriculum holds the following courses: Enterprise Data Management, Business Intelligence, and Data Mining. A Bachelor's degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is required for either pathway.
Northern Arizona University GIS degrees
The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences has an online Master of Science in Applied Geospatial Sciences, providing an education to students that helps than analyze geographical data with statistics and visualization.
