Online Data Science Programs in Delaware
University of Delaware
There are a few options for Master's degrees that can at least be primarily taken online through the university. The online Master of Science in Applied Statistics and its 30-credit curriculum is fully available online, with core and elective courses balanced out evenly. Core studies are focused on various data and stat analysis and the following are elective courses: Survival Analysis, Biostatistics, Applied Database Management, and Logistic Regression, all worth three credits. The other credits can come from independent studies or a research project approved by the program advisor, or Python and/or R programming classes.
All courses are separated into 15-week periods and students can take anywhere from 3 to 10 credits in each semester, making it flexible for full and part-time students. It is anticipated to take two and a half years to complete and there is a limit to six total years. Assignments are completed at one's own pace through the Canvas learning platform and there are no exams in any course.
An alternative online program related to data science is the Master of Business Administration through the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics, with a career focus in Business Analytics. Similar to the last program, this can be completed fully online. For one concentration, the degree requires 44 credits to complete, and the Business Analytics concentration requires the following courses: Data Mining, Decision Analytics and Visualization, and an analytics-focused capstone project working with real-world data sets.
Students have the option to add more than once concentration -- some examples include Finance and Healthcare Management. Each course is seven weeks long, and for those just taking the core program or adding one concentration, it can be completed in as little as 16 months. Requirements to get into the program is holding a Bachelor's degree with at least a 2.8 cumulative GPA and two years of work experience.

All required classes in the MBA curriculum are available online along with a number of electives. Requirements for admission into the online program include an application and $50 fee, a Bachelor's degree in a related field with a 2.50 cumulative GPA, and letters of recommendation.
