In as little as seven months, students can earn a Master of Science in Data Science online through a collaboration program between the School of Engineering and School of Business at Merrimack College. The degree requires eight courses and 32 credit hours to complete, and full-time students can finish the curriculum in just over a half year while part-time students can obtain it within 16 months. The following eight courses are required for all graduate students, which covers all the standard data science subjects and culminates with an eight-week capstone project.

There are two tracks that students can choose from: a generalist track that provides all-around education in the field of data science for anybody, and a specialist track that contains a more in-depth curriculum on statistics and data mining.
12 total courses, each worth 3 credit hours, are required to satisfy the degree requirements.
